A First Aid at Work certificate lasts three years. That is the rule, and it is also the reason so many workplaces have first aiders who have not thought about resuscitation since the last time the alarm was tested.

An annual refresher has been recommended for years, and it is the cheapest half-day most employers will ever buy. We run them at both centres every month, and if you have four or more people due we will come to you and do it inside a lunch break.
